One quality storybook saves hundreds of students from being left behind in reading
The Child-Friendly Library Program (CFLP) is an effort to fulfill children's rights - cluster 7 - regarding the right to education. This cluster emphasizes that children have the right to get an education according to their level of growth and development. And in schools, the earliest fulfillment of education is students' reading ability. Through the library and library period, the ability to read gets priority. The intended priorities include the availability of 1) a safe and pleasant library room, 2) an adequate number of books, 3) types of books that are colorful, varied, and level; and 4) the method of reading voluntarily or not forcing students to read. In addition, what is also very important is the training of teachers in accompanying students during library period. During that period, teachers and students engage in reading activities in a fun way.
However, reading activities that have been proven to help students develop the habit of reading in a fun way cannot continue if the need for quality books stops. The school's limitations in procuring books are always inferior to the procurement of other needs at school.
